AMB ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES has just set up a new Spray booth cleaning contract, for the emptying and cleaning of a large spray booth at a company local to Accrington, Lancashire.
We was called upon to set up a schedule to empty and clean this companies yard interceptors, three times a year.
Whilst we were there the companies manager ask if we also could set up a contract for their large spray booth.
The companies spray booth will require emptying and cleaning at least twice a year, and maybe more when production is at its highest.
Components of spray booths must be cleaned on a regular basis to include: the walls/silhouettes, windows, floor grates, floors, conveyors, hoses.
The frequency of cleaning paint spray booths in a paint shop depends on the rate of paint accumulation and the degree of cleanliness required by the plant.
The Best Practice recommendations are:
- Wash or blast the grates weekly.
- Scrape the centre track weekly .
- Change robot covers weekly and spray with tacky coat.
- Limit the use of cleaning solvent to spray tips and bells.
- Rinse walls, windows, silhouettes and hoses with water daily and spray low-VOC tacky coat.
- Assure that spent/waste rags are dry and efficiently reclaimed or properly disposed.
- Establish a communications process for engineers, booth managers and booth cleaners.
- Establish booth cleaning schedule with AMB ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES.
